Event Description

Portobello are you ready to be rocked and rolled?

For the first time in Porty Pride history, we’re delighted to open our Pride weekend with an evening of riotous, joyous, pumping and jumping live music.

Featuring Edinburgh Girls Rock School legends, you won’t want to miss the unforgettable energy these bands will bring to the stage; and headlining the evening in a crescendo of joyous radical self-love will be none other than Tom Rasmussen bringing their blend of dark dance music and queer club culture that’ll have you dancing the night away.

Line Up

Tom Rasmussen | Headline
Tom Rasmussen is a London-based artist and prominent figure in the LGBTQIA+ community. Known for their dark dance music that blends pop, queer club culture, and their experiences as a former drag performer, their debut album, Body Building (Globe Town Records 2023), received critical acclaim.

Maz and the Phatasms
Maz and the Phantasms are a high-energy psychedelic surf-punk band from Glasgow.  Born out of dive bars, DIY tours and late-night jams, the band mixes beach-goth guitars, funky basslines, and spooky synths with a touch of spaghetti-western swagger. Equal parts punk and charity shop glam, their shows are chaotic, sweaty and full of drama, where rock’n’roll collides queer theatrics and the party always gets a little unhinged.

Sheila in the Poundshop
Sheila in the Poundshop are an all-gal post-punk band specialising in silly songs that tackles big issues – like the horrors of carpets in the bathroom and dodgy farmers! DIY, high-energy with an unhinged twist.

PONY/ PONIES/ PONY'S
The No. 2 wonky grungegayz band in the UK with light horse/ Pony theming. Featuring members of Petroleum Genderloss and Dear Srrrz.
