No Pride on a Dead Planet

Join us for a participatory discussion about what pride is and what purpose does it serve through an environmental lens.

Venue: Portobello Library

Organiser: Porty Pride

Tickets: Free Via Outsavvy

Age: All Ages

Event Description

Following on from last year's panel Protests, parades and pinkwashing: the politics of Pride, past, present and future - this year we'll continue our interrogation of what is pride and purpose does it serve by exploring it through an environmental lens.

We'll be exploring questions such as:

  • Why climate justice is relevant to queer liberation?

  • How does queer culture and the fossil fuel industry interact?

  • What role does the power of organising within communities hold?

Join Rea Cris from Porty Pride and J from Fossil Free Pride for a fishbowl conversation on these questions and more.

Fishbowl conversations are a more participatory discussion format for larger groups.
