Venue: Bellfield
Organiser: Dunedin Fencing Club
Price: Free - non ticketed
Age: For all ages from 10 years +
Event Description
We will be using plastic fencing equipment, which is very safe, but it can be uncomfortable to be hit on bare skin so you may wish to wear a long sleeved top. We would advise wearing sports shoes with a reasonable level of cushioning and lower body wear that you can comfortably make a full lunge in.
We will be bringing some para fencing equipment and we encourage wheelchair users to come try out and find out more about chair fencing.
About the Organisers
We're a community fencing club We believe fencing is there to support your health and wellbeing, and our classes and club culture are set up to achieve those goals. LGBTQ+ folk love fencing; we're proud to have a strong LGBTQ+ community in our club.
We focus on working with groups that face barriers to accessing sport including para athletes and we created the Pride Fencing Group
We have a zero tolerance stance on discriminatory behaviour and language.
With support from British and Scottish Fencing, we're now also able to offer Olympic standard equipment for para fencing at our sessions at Southside Community Centre.
