The Story Sessions

An evening of storytelling; an invitation to gather, connect, share, inspire and be inspired by true stories. A place where voices are heard and celebrated.

Storytelling has been around forever. Sharing stories is about choosing connection, they have the power to inspire; to draw us in and make us feel less alone, make us cry, laugh, get angry, and become invested. Ultimately, we make sense of the world through the receiving and giving of stories. We’re all hungry for authentic connection.

Please note this event is restricted to 50 people. Tickets will be available shortly.

This is an indoor event.

Queer poetry workshop with Éadaoín Lynch

This workshop is led by Éadaoín Lynch, Irish poet & researcher living and working in Edinburgh and a current writer-in-residence with Typewronger Books, creating original poems in response to materials from the Lavender Menace Archive.

This is a practice-based workshop where attendees need no prior writing experience, and there is no expectation to share work aloud.

Eadaoin will provide a poem to read/discuss with the group, along with a set of writing prompts inspired by that poem. Attendees will then have built-in time to write, after which the group checks back in about what inspired them/ how they found it/ what came up for them. This check-in, as with every part of the workshop, is opt-in, and attendees can be as interactive (or not) as they wish.

The whole ethos of the workshop is to encourage people to write, not to edit or critique or be critiqued.

This is a creative space where anyone can show up and be welcomed.

This workshop is free but limited to 15 people so please book early to avoid disappointment!
